what are the further steps before I get the visa interview date?

Hi all....My spouse became a USC few weeks back and I am still in India waiting for the visa number to be issued. My I-130 was approved around Dec '09. My spouse has already paid $ 400 plus $ 75 to the NVC. now my question is what are the further steps to be completed before I can enter the US for my family reunion..
PS..after my spouse because a USC..we have informed the NVC that now our case is of a spouse of USC and no more a spouse of LPR. I would really appreciate if anyone could give in the details of what are the upcoming steps that I need to go through.

NVC will forward your case to the consulate, you will have your medical exam and an interview. If you are approved, you will get an immigrant visa.
 
Hi LucyMO...thank you for ur reply to my question. It does sound I am just a step away from the interview date. My other concern is say if I make or when I make PCC , whom do I submit to? Do I have to send in my documents to NVC and after submitting them...they will issue the visa number or do i hav to take PCC to the interview? Thank you for ur help.
 
Dear all..could anyone tell me where do we have to submit the PCC? do i have to send it to NVC or take it along with me to the embassy when i go for the interview? I will really appreciate any info regarding this matter. Thank you.
