Washington SESA Tracker

DOL processing time.

I just checked the DOL web site, and the DOL processin time is as following:

San Francisco:

RIR: 7/2002
Non-RIR: 5/2002

Seattle:

RIR: 9/2002
Non-RIR: 6/2003

It's updated on June 10, 2003.

However, I called 415-975-4601 and found the information as following:

San Francisco:

RIR: 8/2002
Non-RIR: 5/2002

Seattle:

RIR: 11/2002
Non-RIR: 6/2003

It's updated on June 23, 2003.

As you can see, the processing time for Non-RIR are the same, but for RIR cases, San Francisco moved 1 month, and Seattle moved 2 months.

Can anybody explain this?

Thanks!

Seattle RIR case

they are moving faster now as they are sending RFE for everyone without even looking at the case details.

If you are IT professional, you will get RFE/NOF.

RFE/NOF

aksingh,

Could you share some details on the RFE/NOF -- What kind of information did dol request, do we need to run more ads etc.

It will be of much help to everyone still waiting, since I guess from your message all people waiting for IT LCs can know what to expect.

Thanks,
Bharad

Can anyone explain why Seattle non-RIR is 6/2003, whereas RIR is 9/2002 - shouldnt RIR cases be faster than Non-RIR? Is it better to apply non-RIR in WA, then?

Thanks!

What are better places to move to for GC

Do you guys have any information whether these delays are happening to just high-tech employees or to all the employees? I am a civil engineer and now deeply regretting moving to Seattle.

Bye!

tandtad, i am curious why you are regretting moving to Seattle.. isnt the process equally painfull in CA, TX, NJ, NY - practically all the places where there are jobs?? Are there places where there is a decent number of jobs as well as fast GC processing?

There are some states such as MAssachussets, Illinois, WIsconsin and few in mid west, utah, oregon where labor is getting quicker than Seattle. Anybody from civil engineering ?

San Francisco DOL nonsense.

Hi, all,

I got some information about San Francisco DOL like the following. It really sucks. We are all screwed.

Very recently Region VI DOL changed its processing procedures once again. At this stage, Region VI DOL appears to be sending back ALL cases in the high tech field, advising the Washington ESD to put the case in its "standard processing" queue, where the Washington ESD suggests the advertising forum and monitors the recruitment.

position - programmer analyst
date received - 10/30/2002

WA ESD is SESA.

For WA, ESD is SESA. Some states call it SESA. Similar agency, different names.

i got RFE

Very bad news for me.
I found out today that my labor got RFE at DOL.
after a wait of 2 years, this is the result.
my priority date was 11/19/2002.

I am an Oracle DBA

Does anybody know of an employer in Illinois or good state
who will do h1-b?

thanks in advance..

REF/NOF

Hey Bharad,

here is what SF DOL wanted ..

The DOL gave three options in NOG:

(1) request that the application be withdrawn;
(2) request that the application be remanded or returned to the State Workforce Agency (SWA) for regular processing; or
(3) request that it reinstate the Reduction-in-Recruitment (RIR) application and continue processing it as an RIR.

we went for option 3 and re-tested the market by advertising the position and doing some recruitment efforts.

we have now responded back to DOL that we could not find any suitable person ..

Now my question....

does anyone know how long will they take to respond...?

Hi, waitingnwaiting,

You said your priority was 11/19/2002. I am wondering if you meant 11/19/2001.

Thanks!

Hello,

Last month Washington state RIR process date was 02/01/2002, today it went back to 12/2001 in this site. The official site yet to update. Any one has any insight?
