Waiting Asylum decision

Why are we silent lately? What happened? How are you people staying sane during this witch hunt? Are you ok? Is your family ok? After all this years being good citizen, doing everything by the book and waiting patiently, I feel scared to leave my home. Whenever someone pulls up to my house I'm jumping to see who is it, waiting for the worst to happen. Why? Because of their flawed immigration policies. Because uscis needed 9 years to schedule my interview... and god knows when I'll get decision. If I ever get it. And now with "decision pending" I'm learning that I don't have any rights at all. I'm just getting really really tired of everything....

I once believed the United States was a beacon of civilization—just as written in the Declaration of Independence, just as promised in the poem on the Statue of Liberty.

But now that illusion has faded. The truth is, the whole world is pretty much the same.

I feel deeply disillusioned and exhausted. I’ve already prepared myself for the worst.

If it doesn’t work out, I will leave. It is no longer a place I am willing to work for, sacrifice for, or devote myself to.

Lucky you. some of us, even with all this disillusion, have no safe way to return

I think that going through this process, it's not a choice for most people, there is no back-up option. It's just that the times have changed, in the past, if you could not do it here in the USA, you could go to Canada, or move on to the EU. Back in 2007, I was actually blocked from going to France, I was going there to try my luck, becasue my initial application here had been lost, and there was no movement after several months. So I thought I could try my luck there in France. Unfortunately/fortunately, I was blocked. So I submitted a new application to USCIS and they took action on it. Anyway, my hope is that, you all succeed. My advice, please be prepared for the worst outcome, but of course, hope for the best.

I recently had my second interview at Tustin office, lasted about an hour with another officer. Was told they would mail out results.

Timeline:
08/2025 - first interview, "decision is pending" status same day
12/2025 - "you completed your interview" + "application is pending"
12/2025 - received second interview notice in mail within ~2 weeks
02/2026 - second interview, status changed back to to "decision is pending" same day - does this mean anything?

I was wondering if anyone has any updates on their status since the pause started? Does anyone else has a similar timeline? Thanks!

The fact that you went to an interview in 2026 means they are working on cases. You just gave me and others hope.

I had 2interviews 2yrs apart and im still on decision pending. God will make it happen I trust in Him.

they can't send a decision yet though until the pause is lifted and that doesn't seem to be any soon :(
