Did you pick your decision? When was your interview ?

The lawyer says he hasn't received any green cards in the last three weeks from the asylum office. The situation is strange and unclear.

Hi everyone,
I’m confused and hoping someone can help
I received two letters in the same envelope from USCIS
The first letter is under my name and refers to the last inquiry I made almost 5 months ago. It says I completed my application online, so USCIS does not mail out the notice of dismissal of Form I-589, and that the information should be in my online account. It also says they will accommodate me with a form today.
The second letter is a Notice of Dismissal of Form I-589, but it has someone else’s name, address, and A-number on it.
Has anyone experienced this before or knows what might be happening?
Could this be a USCIS mistake?

The first one addressed to you is suspicious. The spelling errors "your completed your applicant online" makes me super concerned about how this is an official record. Dont use the link provided. Just use myuscis and check for any letter they attached and believe that one.

The "lost" one also appears to be a scam unless someone used your address. If you are close to Chicago just walk in they allow walk ins on weekdays. Return the letters and ask for clarification.

Thanks for the warning, I appreciate it
I’m trying to understand your point better To me, the letters look real because they include my exact inquiry details the date, time, referral ID, and that matches my USCIS inquiry. Also, both letters came in the same envelope.
Could you please explain what specifically makes it look suspicious to you? I’d like to understand your concerns better.

I cannot explain further because im not an expert. Take a trip to Chicago and give them both letters. Confirm yours is true and have them take care of the lost one. Im not an expert and I dont think what I say will help.

Thanks for your response,
I appreciate you taking the time to reply
I’d still like to hear what other members in the group think especially since this is a tough time and fewer members are responding lately which is also a loss for all of us any additional thoughts or experiences would be appreciated.

This feels more like a USCIS mailing mistake than a scam since the first letter has your real case details and referral ID, which a scammer wouldn’t have. Typos do happen in USCIS letters, and the second letter with someone else’s info was likely just accidentally included in your envelope.

Thanks for your reply. I’ve been waiting almost a year for my asylum decision. The first letter is mine and it’s a response to my inquiry. This is what I received after my second inquiry, which I made 5 months ago. Based on this letter, what do you think it is saying?

Just contact them to verify. We have no knowledge because if the content of the letter is true then it’s just confusing. Contact your asylum office to verify if this was an error or not

Have you ever been apprehended by ICE or CBP? have you ever been issued an NTA from these agencies? If not then the second letter does not apply to you.
