Waiting Asylum decision

Greetings all,

I've recently asked for a DL renewal in Missouri and presented my EAD card after asylum approval that is valid until 9/2029, the lady processing my application told me that my real ID renewal will be valid until 2032, today I received the physical card and found that my card only valid for one year. Anyone can explain what happened and why my DL renewed for only one year?

Did you provide A5 EAD?
Did you get your real ID with asylum pending A8 EAD? If yes, did you have any notes on real ID like "Limited-Term" ?

Don't have an answer to your question but have a question of my own to you. Do you have a GC? I was always assuming that real ID is only for green card holders and asylum seekers are not eligible.
Yes, I got my real ID in NYS as an asylum seeker in 2020 - after a few visits to the DMV and conversations with their lawyers in the main office.
But it was issued with 'Limited-Term" note which I wish better not to have... It didn't my life easier :)
Now I'm planning to renew my real ID and get rid off that note

“limited Term” conditioned will be removed when you will get your GC and present it to DMV. So be patient and wait for GC. On C08. And A05 EAD this condition will not be removed.

I've learned that limited-term conditions will be removed if you provide a white card at the DMV since it says asylum is granted indefinitely and has no expiration date as A05 EAD. Can anybody confirm?

Which type of white card? I never heard about it before.

Are you an asylee already? This doesn’t make sense, the asylee i94 is granted indefinitely
You are right, but remember that is for indefinite stay but not directly authorize you to work. That’s why UsCIs issues a new card and when USCIS issues EAD, that EAD supersedes I-94. You can ask any attorney. Twice reply will be the same. Now it’s up to you either believe or not. You can also google this issue.

No that’s not logical , nothing supersedes the i94 , it means indefinite meaning you can remain here forever , ead is time limited , even those waiting on interview have 5yrs , how can that be superior to being granted stay ?

Ok. You are right….. call any Attorney he will endorse my statement.

Since I got my case approved my employer has not asked for my ead, your employer has access to the i9 to confirm if u can work legitimately or not , doesn’t matter whether you have no ead card
