Wage determination and timeline

any word on your PERM status? I have also filed for PERM in Atlanta and hope not to get stuck for labor processing again.

this is my second attempt at green card(i got one from my previous job but have to cancel) and before my EB3 application was stuck in Atlanta for 3 years under RIR. I hope I dont have to live thru the same misery again.

has anyone figured out why Atlanta is taking so long? I read in Murthy's forum that Atlanta got sidetracked processing H2 applications but not sure if this is true.

Please keep me posted when you get certified.

thanks

I am agree with you but we are at Atlanta. God knows when our Perm will be certified - can be from 1 month to 4 or 5 months:eek:. I hope that the employer will be nice with the I 140 form. I have a friend from California and he spent almost 2 weeks for medical exam. Also his Perm was certified in 3 weekes. He started the green card on September, 2006. He filed I 485 just last week.:p I hope with all my heart to file before July, 16. I don't have the medical exam yet but everything else is ok.:p

Doodo,

you are:
JobZone Three: Medium Preparation Needed

Experience: Previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is required for these occupations. For example, an electrician must have completed three or four years of apprenticeship or several years of vocational training, and often must have passed a licensing exam in order to perform the job.

Education: Most occupations in this zone require training in vocational schools, on-the-job experience, or an associate's degree. Some may require a bachelor's degree.

Job Training: Employees in these occupations usually need one or two years of training involving both on-the-job experience and informal training with experienced workers.

Examples: These occupations usually involve using communication and organizational skills to coordinate, supervise, manage, or train others to acomplish goals. Examples include funeral directors, electricians, forest and conservation technicians, legal secretaries, interviewers, and insurance sales agents.

and:
Education & Training Code: 5-Bachelor's degree

Hi unsure, nazar,

What do you think about CIR? I am so disappointed!!!!I hope CIR fails completely!!!EB-urile and H1B - urile will be affected by CIR!!!! :(

Hi Johnny,

I have advanced US degree and when you count the assistanship as work - 6 years part time (= 3 years full time) and 1.5 years full time work experience (till now) in US, my degree is in science and engineering, I work in health care right now, these are additional points -> CIR is good for me, I am getting almost 90 points. Plus, I won't need to beg the lawyer to move ... But, given the reviews and responses in the news paper, I don't believe they will vote it. The one they voted last year (S.1346 - which was even better for us, any US advance degree holder petitions him/herself) died at the House.

Unsure,

I think you don't know that you need to spend another 6 year with CIR?????http://www.theonion.com/content/video/immigration_the_human_cost

That 6 years conditional residency does not apply to me.

Unsure,

Maxim the points that you can have is 82. Ok?? I think that you don't realize the risk! Will be a new immigration sistem. If the CIR will be vote, you can't file anymore I 140. After you need to wait 2008 and AFTER maybe another 2 years.

How did you come up with 82?
Employment: max 47 + Education: max 28 + English: max 15 + Family : max 10 = 100.

47
20(master, PHD if have one)
15(if you have TOEFL)
family(starting from 2 to 8 points)
90 points
But I chose the higher score!!!!!!!

I don't care about points because both we have master, next year I will get an american diploma. I am worried about TIME!! I don't want to spend another 3 or 4 years to get EAD.
Imagine if our Perm will be certified next month you can file after 1 or 3 months for I 140/I 485. You can get the EAD this year. With the new sistem you never know when everything will be finish.
I paid for green card 4100$ until at this moment. If CIR will be approved than I am losing every penny.

Just for the record, you forgot to add the 8 points for a STEM degree. so my max is 90 (I don't have family here). I am a bit short, as I don't have the max 5 years of experience.

I don't need EAD, I have visa. I need the green card. And you are right: as good the new system looks you never know. Better not risk.

For me EAD is almost the green card. I am so stress at this moment. CNN and NBC are the best for immigration news.
http://immigrationvoice.org/ - here you can read about CIR.
Unsure, Canada has the points sistem. To get the visa for that sistem takes almost 2 years(my country).

Relax. This bill is not becoming law soon. After the senate votes, then the House must vote the same text. Then the president needs to sign what the senate and house agreed on. Bush cannot convince his own party.

Keep in mind that EAD is dangerous. If you start working on the EAD and the 485 is denied on whatever reason, you are out of status right away. We are not applying for any EAD's.

A friend of mine (she used to live in Boston) got Canada's permanent residency. It took her about 9 months. Wasn't a big deal at all.

I know that for Canada is easy way and for US will be easy with the points sistem. I am tired of waiting. Also I know that the bill is not becoming law soon. You need to read more about CIR. What means that I am out of status? Does it means that I can't get anymore green card?
