visit mexican border town

A few of my friends and I are thinking of visiting the Mexican town across from Del Rio, TX soon. I have a GC since 2007. I am from India and I know I don't need a Mexican visa, but what is the procedure when coming back to the US? Is it the same as when one comes through an international US airport? My friends are US citizens.

For entering the US via land you only need a GC. Your USC friends will need a US passport, or driver's license/state ID + US birth/natz certificate, or one of the other acceptable documents or combination of documents.

Carry your GC and Indian passport to cover all bases.
