Hi Guys,

Need some help on visa information.

Currently have GC thru asylum. Dont have a NP but have a re entry permit.

I am looking to travel to Russia, Belgium, France and Turkey for business any idea if they accept RP.

Also i was told by an airline that many of the carriers dont accept re entry permit for international travel.

Kindly advise

Thanks

Ed

As an Asylee (or Refugee) and an LPR who became one due to being granted asylum (or entry as a refugee) you are eligible for a Refugee Travel Document (RTD). An RTD will be accepted in lieu of a passport (it is an international accord) while a mere re-entry permit is not required to be accepted in lieu of a passport by anyone accept CBP and then it is subject to conditions.

The REP is merely to help protect your LPR status while abroad for up to 2 years.

Most countries still DO accept the RP, and the ones you mentioned (I'm not sure about Russia) accept it and will issue visas in it. Check with the Russian mission, though.
