Please update

Did anyone call SESA recently. The person next in the line, please call them and kindly post on the site.

Anyone know about DOL Project to Improve Efficiency in LC Adjudications

My receipt date in for LC in VA is 09/11/2001. I called them today and they told me that my appication is in DOL as part of this project to Improve Efficiency in LC Adjudications. I read about this in an immigration news site. Here is the link for this http://www.murthy.com/ukdol.html

It seems like my application is one of those sent to this "private consulting firm". Is anyone else here in the same boat? The lady at VA SESA told me that there was no way for me to check the status of this application since it was at DOL. Has anyone called DOL to check on this?

I am getting a bit worried since my date is coming up but instead of mine getting done now it might take longer with this new approach!

Any help on this would be great.

Re: Anyone know about DOL Project to Improve Efficiency in LC Adjudications

Dude, you should be glad - apparently, the expectation is that anyone who is a part of this pilot program will run through the labor cert a lot faster than the current process.

If I were you, I would be celebrating.

KP

PS - Did you get a chance to ask her what date was being processed otherwise, at this time?

Re: Re: Anyone know about DOL Project to Improve Efficiency in LC Adjudications

Does anyone know if this new pilot program is ONLY to speed up SESA processing or the "whole" LC process which includes the DOL processing at Phili?

Any feedback on this would be great.

PS: VA SESA is currently processing Sept 10th RIR. Didn't get a chance to ask about non-RIR.

Called Richmond today

They are processing RIR Sept. 11, 2001. Don't know Non-RIR and he wouldn't tell me how many applications for Sept, Oct. and Nov.

Hi guys,
Would anyone of you pls. clear my doubt...
My employer has filed my LC in Virginia under RIR(EB2) in Dec.2001. They say that it need not go to another office after it is cleared in Virginia. But, I read in the discussions that it goes to DOL, Phily. Pls. clarify guys.
Thanx.

JSSM, You are absolutely right.

After getting cleared at SWA of Virginia, LC will be automatically transfered to DOL at Philly. At that time your lawyer will be notified about the transfer. Once you know the processing dates are beyond your date, you need to call your lawyer and find out the case number at DOL. Then onwards you can track your case from AVM or by e-mail. Right now Philly is taking little over three months to process RIR cases. You can learn more about Philly DOL processing at our own Philly DOL thread right on these forums.

update

I just now called richmond office (236 - 2717) and they are working on Sep17th. Who ever is in the line please update your status please.

Hi Guys ,

Called the Richmond office....my receipt date is 09/13/01...the person that I spoke with said that my application is still pending and is being processed at another location!! do u guys have any idea as to what this means????are LCs processed at different locations?

current processing dates...

RIR - sept 17'th
Non RIR - april 26'th....

I am in a similair situation. Did you ask them WHEN it was transferred and whether if it is part of the a new "PILOT PROGRAM" by DOL?

My receipt date is 09/11/01 and when I called them they told me my application was transferred to DOL on 11/22/02 as part of a new "pilot program" to Improve Efficiency in LC Adjudications. For more info check out this link http://www.murthy.com/ukdol.html

I guess we are one of lucky/unlucky ones, depending on how long this new process takes. But it looks like it should be faster.
From what I can make out this process will take care of SESA and Regional processing in one shot.

But before jumping to conclusions call the VA SESA back and make sure your application was one the ones picked out for this new program. The lady there told me specifically that mine was part of this program.

What I don't like about this new system is that there is no phone no. to call to check that status of the applications under this process. Maybe we can start another group that pertains to people whose applications have been picked out fot this process?

Any thoughts?

When you call
what number you call and what info you need to know about your LC.

I know my name (of course), my company, the filing date and the lawyer's firm. Will that be enough?

Thanks in advance,

Hi all,

Called again and yes I am also part of the new "PILOT PROGRAM", confirmed that there is no phone number that we can call and check the status.....aint sure if this program would cover both state and federal labor clearance....

I called twice today. One person told they are working on SEP18th and the other person told they are working on 20th. I am eager because my date is coming up. But they said call back after new year or even after Feb 1. I asked the reason for that delay and she is telling that they have 1000 apps for Sep 20th alone , it may take 3 weeks to clear only 20th. This is too much.
