Called 10.15 AM Today:

My Labor PD : July 25th, 2001
Sent to Regional DOL : September 23rd, 2002.

Currently Processing July 30th RIR Cases at SESA Richmond.

Is there another thread like this where Regional DOL processing related informationnis shared..

SESA update

They are doing
RIR - July 31 2001
Non-RIR - April 25 2001

As of August 30th they had 14000 applications pending in all (RIR and Non-RIR combined). Of these 5000 were April Non-RIR and the rest were RIR from July to August 2002 and Non-RIR from May 2001 to August 2002.

They have received about 400 applications each month from August onwards.

The estimates are that they wil take about 16 working days for each month from now on. So if you filed your application in Dec 2001 you should hear from them sometime in Jan 2003 (Maybe earlier if these estimates are a bit off).


The only consolation is that it is atleast moving.

Thank you for updating information.
I agree with you that we should be happy as it is moving at reasonably good speed.
We need to wait and watch instead of calling SESA every now and then.

Called today...

Hi All,
Called SESA today, the guy told me that they are processing last week of July (mostly July 31st). My date is not July 31st but August 1st!!, So I'd have to call again!. Will update you as soon as I get any info.

Whats with July 31st

They are now stuck on Jul 31st for quite some time. I hope this is not another April 30. I request to you all that whoever next call please ask how many more applications they have for Jul 31 2001 if they are still doing same....

All,
Called SESA, the lady said my application was transferred to Philly DOL from SESA on Sept 27th. Have not heard anything from my lawyers yet...however this was the update I got...

House Passes Bill Allowing for 7th Year H-1B Extensions

The House of Representatives has passed legislation allowing for H-1B extensions after 6 years where a labor certification has been pending for over 365 days.

This legislation corrects a provision contained in AC-21 which allows an H-1B extension in excess of six years if a labor certification has been pending over 365 days AND a visa petition has been filed on behalf of the H-1B visaholder.

The Senate is expected to pass the bill this week, and President is expected to sign the legislation.

More details and analysis of this bill will appear in the October issue of SHUSTERMAN'S IMMIGRATION UPDATE.
