Hello Guru's,
i got my GC 4.5 years back and i will be applying for USCitizen this December. i lived in NC for the last 4 years and planning to move to Florida this december,

1. Does this cause any problem when i apply for USCitizenship in Florida.
2. How is the processing time for Jacksonville,Florida for N400.
3. Do i need to stay in a rented apartment or can i stay as paying guest where i will not have residence proof for 5 months for should i take apartment in Florida.
4. Is it best advice to stay another 6 months in NC state till I get USCitizenship?

Please advice.

If you move BEFORE you file an N-400, you have to wait 90 days (3 months) before you are allowed to file at the new address.

If you file BEFORE you move, you may then submit a change of address and continue processing the N-400 in the new jurisdiction.

Will you qualify to file before you move? Plan accordingly.

Thanks so much for quick reply, i am planning on moving some where in Jan.2012
I have been to India 3 months this year and 3 trips in the last 2 years ( 1 trip for 5 months and 2 trips for 3 months), but i have been in USA in NC for the last 4.5years and i got GC based on employment.

Here are my options:
1.I want to go for another 3 months trip to india and come back in Jan 2012 and apply for N400 in NC state.
2. I want to move to Florida after i come from India in Jan 2012 and wait for 90days as your mentioned so that would become April 2012 and i will be completing 5 years by then but I heard we can apply N400 6months or 3 months before right?

3. If i go to india for 3 months i can still work from India to US Company and my paycheck will be generated in US on my friends home address, does it prove as my residence proof or do i need to rent an apartment?.

Please advice.

You have bigger issues than you indicated when you started this thread. Don't be fooled into thinking that you merely need to "put in your minimum time in the U.S." and then start living back "home".

Are you aware of all the crap that the Government of India does to you when you naturalize as an American and then move back to India?

An alternative MIGHT have been filing an N-470 in order to work abroad for a U.S. employer BUT you do not appear to have a solid ONE YEAR inside the U.S. after getting lawful permanent residence (it cannot be even one day short).

You are endangering your greencard as well as naturalization eligibility.

for sure, i am in US since 3.5 years minimum on total after i got my GC till now and i do have all my apartment lease agreements till now; so thinking may be based on your answer i should shorten my trip to 2 months and comeback in Jan 2012 then move to FL state and apply in April. 2012. OR Else, i have to just give my apartment for rent for the 2 months and then come back on Jan 2012 and apply for USnaturalization

When i go to India, I will take one month paid vacation and one month work from home. i dont know if i need to file N-470 for 2 months i am in India...Do i have too?

also, i am not sure about this-

Correct, just be aware of what rights in India you are giving up in order to become USC.
