USCIS RESPONSE:

RE: asylee I-485
LIN 00 070 XXXXX

He filed December 28, 1999. I suppose it is possible there are some that have been fingerprinted but not adjudicated. They are very accurate about keeping within the time frame. As of now to the end of September 2004, they will be working on cases received prior to November 16, 1999. The I-485s filed from November 17, 1999 to May 12, 2000, will start being adjudicated sometime between October 1, 2004 and September 2005.

The fingerprints should not be done too soon as they will expire in 15 months. This could be adjudicated any time between the October 2004 and September 2005 dates.

Is his address still XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX ? IF NOT, get back to me. If he does not get a fingerprint notice within 6 months, have him get back to you after October 1, 2004.

My suggestion to you is (and everyone else waiting for an adjustment number) to relax and enjoy life. They are working their cases as best they can.

You have already received the generous protection of this country. You are far more fortunate than a lot of people.

Unless you do something stupid, you will get your green card and you will become an American citizen.

Just be patient.

don't get me wrong. some people are not patient. I am :D However, it is always nice to hear something new and fresh. Am I wrong?

Also, it is very important to know that the next group should start expecting requests for FP soon. Even if the lawsuit goes through and USCIS complies, it might take them another year to adjust those 20,000 cases. So, our next group after Oct 2004 will probably be adjusted as planed, not soon. So, as Gilbert said, sit back and wait. But keep in mind that our time is very close.

Thanks a lot nofreedom for this piece of info. 11-15-04 my FP will expire, so i am assuming USCIS know what they are doing and they have it well planned. we might even start hearing before 10/04.
