Urgent help please - what is form to file if you get fired under TN?

Nelson: I ask this question to you since I consider you one of the top gurus here. To change status to tourist 'the same day you are fired' , what is the form I need to file?

Please help - it's urgent. Nothing concrete yet, but just want to be on the safe side and sleep well at night.

Is it possible to stay in the US for 3-4 weeks after being fired or resigning

Is it possible to stay in the US for 3-4 weeks after being fired or resigning from the company that sponsors your TN? The post above implies that it would be possible to change to tourist status and stay a few weeks.... without leaving the country. Or would it be possible to return to Canada for a few days then re-enter as a tourist for several weeks?
 
Any time you stay after Your TN dies (lay-off, firing, resignation, etc), you are out of status. It then becomes a matter of not getting caught, and not being asked about it nexttime you cross the border.

If you leave US after being in TN status, the expectation at the border id that you remain outside sufficient time to re-establish a full-fledged residence outside US, and bring prrof of such establishment before re-entering.
