True cost of N-400

Hi guys,

just wondering how much you think you have been spending on your applications.

Seems to me that the $600 some odd Dollars don't quite cover it, considering that some hunt down court documents, DMV records etc.

One would assume that USCIS should have access to that stuff during their validation process.

If you factor in parking costs, public transportation costs, and costs to obtain copies of records, I probably spent close to $800, including the $675 for the N-400.

There are tangible and intangible costs associated with the costs of N-400. Tangible costs would be things like photos, DMV record for evidence etc... whereas intangible costs would be things like phone bill to spouse in foreign country , medications to calm your wits, plane tickets to visit spouse, lawyer costs to sue USCIS. So depending on your circumstance, cost for N-400 may be as low as $600 , or as high as a few thousand dollars depending on your circumstance.
