Traveling to India

Hi,

I'm flying to India via Amsterdam. I have a valid RTD and I'm not a GC holder. My question is, will I need a visa for the Netherlands? What about visa for India?

Please note that I'm not an Indian and based upon my national origin,I don't need a visa. I'm flying in to India and then crossing the border using my citizenship.

Appreciate your response nkm-oct23.

You said that a Nepali or a Bhutanese pasportholder doesn't require a visa to enter India, but when someone files for asylum, isn't he believed to have abandoned his passport?

I don't intend on applying for visa but thought I'd make sure beforehand.

You should have a valid passport though. I am not sure if you can travel to India visa free with just your RTD. You can email the nearest Indian consulate for more information.

As per your conversation, what i understood is: you didn't fear with your government, may be with some other group in your country.
I think renewing your passport or using it should not have any impact in your case.
And you are a derivative anyway, so why worry?

God_is_green,

My father sought for asylum fearing prosecution by terrorists.

You're right, I'm a derivative asylee but still, I keep getting mixed messages about visiting Home Country. Some say I should be fine while some have cautioned me. I just don't wanna take any chance. Besides, traveling through India is much cheaper.

Amsterdam requires a transit visa for RTD holders without a GC in hand. As for Visa for India, you would need it on your RTD.

Hmm. Any idea about the cost or procedure?

As far as India's concerned, when I use my National Passport, I won't need visa.

Oke, but a Dutch transit visa costs about 90 dollars, I think. Do you need a transit visa with a Nepalese passport, though?

Hi,
I'm still confused(i did check the thread about travelling for asylee) about the trip to COP for derivated. So, is it possible or not to get back there when you're one?
thanks for replies.

Derivative asylees should be fine with travel to COP. Principle asylee is a different entity however.
