Travel Question

One more thing I would like to add to what you said is not just getting your GC legitimately but that you maintained it legitimately as well.

Suffice it to say that many would be citizens apply for citizenship, not only have their applications denied by the DHS but also find themselves fighting a legal battle to stay in the United States at all.

No but they do know who left. The reason I say this because once entering with Rentry Permit, the officer did know that I left 2 weeks ago. He corrected me when I said that I was out for 3 weeks.

This is very interesting. I am not sure how this work because the only information the airlines can provide to immigration is your name, specially when you leave the US. When I buy plane tickets, I just put my first initial and last name, and I know there are lots of people that has the same last as I do. I am not very sure if the immigrations have everyone's departure records. But, if they want, they can certainly obtain all the information. So don't ever lie to immigration!

So, they don't get your passport/travel document number to match your name? And, is it always oke to buy a ticket using just your first initial and last name?

An airline enters your travel document number into the computer system which sends the data to the DHS in real time.
