Travel abroad right after Oath ceremony.

I have to fly to canada a couple of days after my Oath ceremony on a business trip. Since I have to surrender my green card, is the naturalization certificate (plus my Indian passport) enough documentation for the travel?

Appreciate your answer!

You can get a passport in 24 hours.

Once you are naturalized you can no longer use your Indian passport. You can get a US passport in 24 hours if you make an appointment at the nearest passport agency and show proof of travel.

If you live in New York State, you can get an EDL (enhanced driver license) and travel with that to Canada, but your best bet is to get the passport as everybody else here stated.-:D

Since the OP has to travel to Canada "a couple of days after oath", the EDL is out of the question, as it takes at least 2 weeks to get one. An expedited passport obtained at a passport center is the only way to go in this situation.

the OP says he's flying to Canada, so a passport is a must.

just go to the nearest US Passport Agency. they will issue a
passport within 24 hours. mine was issued in less than 3 hours.
(submitted application at 9:30AM, picked up at 12:00PM)

need application, ID, naturalization certificate, 2 color photos,
proof of travel, and bring the normal passport fees, plus an
extra $60 for this expedited service at the passport agency.

That seems prone to abuse, then. I can easily print out an itinerary from an airline website without paying for it.

well... if you're willing to pay the $60 expedited fee, they're happy to help you.

besides, WHY WOULD ANYBODY WANT TO
MAKE A FALSE STATEMENT OR PRESENT
FALSE PAPERWORK TO THE U.S. DEPT OF
STATE PASSPORT AGENCY?
(it's a crime to do so)
