Hey there,

I am a Mexican citizen who is being offered a job in Texas, the company is offering me to sponsor my TN visa and by next April apply for the H1B and from there sponsor a GC. Everything sounds so good to be true so that is why I am asking you guys, does it sound feasible?

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Kind regards,
Luis

Thank you very much! Do you know if there are any waiting periods? When you are sponsored a GC by your employer, does that imply your wife can be sponsored at the same time, or, you have to get yours first and then sponsor her?

Thanks again for your help!

Regards,
Luis

No waiting periods. They could file PERM today.

Your wife would get a GC at the same time as you. Also, there is nothing precluding her getting sponsored by her employer.

Thank you very much for the information provided. Did you say it is possible to go directly from TN to GC, I thought it was not because of the TN visa not having the dual-intent thing?

Of course it is. The majority of people filing an I-485 do so from a status other than H or L. You just need to ensure that you do not travel between when the I-485 is filed and the EAD/AP is received.
