TN and TD Visa Siutation

Hello,

I am Canadian citizen and my wife is a Moroccan citizen.

I received a TN visa and my wife received a TD visa and we were living together in the U.S. In December 2021, I resigned from my employer as I had to do an urgent medical procedure. My wife and I have left the U.S., back to Canada and Morocco respectively.

My procedure is expected to finish in February 2022. I plan on applying for another TN. If successful, can my wife re-enter the U.S. on her first TD visa, which has an expiry of 2023? Or does she need to have a new TD visa issued by the U.S. consulate in Morocco? We really want to avoid this as due to the COVID-19 pandemic, everything is delayed by several months.

She doesn't need a new TD visa, as long as the old one is unexpired.

Just to clarify, the TD remains valid as long as it is not expired AND she has not sought another US visa.

And even if she did (as she may in future), she could get this in canada rather than back in Morocco.

We hope once she gets her status to enter Canada (which has been delayed by 4 months now), she will get her TD related matters figured out from Canada.
