The card received. Two "records" held in this forum

I was out of town in the past few days and returned this afternoon. The plastic card was quietly sitting in my mail box waiting for me to pick her up. It was stamped on 09/20/2005, the next day I received the approval notice by email. The card is backdated on 09/19/2004.

So I believe that I might have held two "records" in this forum:

1) The longest time, 12.5 years overall, to apply asylum and green card in US.
2) The shortest time between BIO and the plastic card received (3~4 business days).

Good luck to you who are still waiting.

Thank you indeed, President Bush. I am sorry about disliking you in the past 5 years. I will definitely vote you in 2008 :D

God bless asylees! God bless America!

sadasylee! Its time to immediately change your screen name.... :D
to something like "happygcholder"... but let us know that you are the same person when you come back again on this forum.
congratulations... :)

And don't forget ,Bush won't be there by then. You probably have to vote for some other Republican candidate.

Sadasylee, You should do what my friend currently did. He got his GC after almost 10 years..so he had a party and the requirement was everyone to wear Green clothes in reference to the Green card. He had his house decorated with green confetti inside and green lights outside. He ordered an all green CAKE...The food was also all green...and was chosen to make sure it was green..Salad, all green. Rice, green turkish rice, Green Cool-aid punch drink & Green beer..Green Curry as one of the entries in the menu.

It was the most unique party I have been to. His americans neighbor were amazed how much a GC means to us foreigners. Once they heard the stories they were shocked that USCIS can treat someone like that....

Want,
Your story is really touching. My problem is that other than peacefulness in mind I am not that excited. Encouraged by your story, I will try to find some green cakes or candies for my office fellows. :)

I thought he would have the houses amend the constitution to entitle him to be re-re-elected. :D

John, don't worry. He would give everyone the right to vote for him. :D
