This is the thread where we are all helpless. Mine was ordered 22nd Dec, 2004.

I am a potential customer of USCIS/DHS,
6 EADs ($180 x 6 = $1080)
6 APs ($170 x 6 = $1020)
Total Per Year = $ 2100 (Provided if no fee increase comes in)

USCIS does not want to lose such a potential customer

I think it could be more informative if we included a column for the PD. Maybe this could illucidate a pattern, because right now there is no chronological pattern in this table at all...just random picks :cool:

Do H1-B visas undergo NC?

Just wnated to know - do H1-B visa holders have to go through the same name check? Haven't heard of any H1-B held up for years for NC..
 
just a thought - what about those who got approved but too happy to remember to come back here to update their timeline? Will that affect the accuracy of the tracker?
 
Biometric Appointment

I just received a biometric appointment letter. My LUD is still 9/27/2004 and there has been no activity on my case since Sept. 2004, except for this letter. Does this mean that I can hope that the NC is cleared? Or do they just proactively take the biometrics regardless of the NC? Any thoughts? :confused:

Are you sure, assur? I have seen so many people's signatures that show multiple FP appointments and they are still in the name check. Let's say you are right. If I don't want to wait till Oct 21 for the appointment, can I just crash into the application center and give my biometrics tomorrow? Will they accept it and can it accelerate the process? :confused:
 
Finger prints have no direct relationship with NC. FP notice is a rountine after 1st FP is expired. My 2nd FP was done in Sep. 2005, while NC got cleared in Aug. 2006.

that's not true according to my attorney(s). my first FP was 3 yrs ago. recently i got the 2nd FP. both of my attorneys said it's a sign that NC has been cleared.
i guess USCIS learned to not bother people for FP?

what i don't understand is, a person's finger prints never change with time, why would they put an expiration date on FP? ....

I think, FP is not related to NC, but recently they (INS) stopped sending FP notice if NC is pending, maybe not all offices do this... so I also agree, FP notice MAY be good sign of NC being cleared! as it was in my case, I got 2nd FP notice and I-485 was approved approx one month later...

of course FP do not change... I think, old times they needed to put some timeframe for FP and they figured that since GC process takes few days to few months (my colleague was approved in 19 days, it was maybe 15 years ago) they thought 15 months should be more than enough... just a thought...

Hi compass!

I got our finger printing done (code 3) on Oct. 13, 2005. We filed concurrently in Sep. 2005. Do you think our NC is over because we got our finger printing notice last year? I doubt. To my view sending FP notice does not necessarily mean that your NC is over. That is what I think. Other members can point out if I am wrong.

I was not talking about 1st FP, I referred to 2nd, 3rd etc. FP which sometimes is not sent immediately after expiration of previous FP if NC is pending...again I think it depends on where is your file...

Thank you Compass! glad to see you here again. it's always my worries that all of you that got approved will never come back again. hehehe
 
They may not have data storage capacity beyond certain time which is the reason for more FP. It also more generates more revenue for USCIS.

Does anyone have the experience of going to the biometrics appointment before the scheduled date? Can this be rescheduled to an earlier date? Mine is Oct. 21, but I don't want to wait 2 weeks, just in case they are really resuming processing.
