Stuck in Name Check??? Let's track it

you'd have to call the assigned ASC (application support center) where you are scheduled. some ASC are really busy. so they go strictly on schedule basis. if you go uninvited, they won't let you in.
 
biometrics

Thanks everyone for your input. By the way, the appointment letter was sent to my old address. USCIS does know my new address and in the last several weeks I received some junk letters from them at the new address (all about my case undergoing the checks and such). But as an ill luck would have it, they send the important mail to the old address. Those bastards are hopeless. :(

Is USCIS paying FBI for the consecutive fingerprinting from its own pocket?
If that's the case such approach would definetely reduce their expenses and lessen ASC workload.
I had my fingerprinting last week but it didn't cause any LUD. FBI claims they submitted the results to USCIS the same day. I've been enjoying name check since December 2004.

The problem is, that uscis doesn't store fingerprints (they plan to implement fp storage system but it's not done yet)
So, they put expiration date on FP. Just to make sure that applicant didn't commit a crime while waiting.

I started making inqueries about 5 months ago and, upon no response, contacted senators and the ombudsman. And I think very recently they started contacting USCIS on my behalf, so USCIS sent me some letters with standard futile context like "your case is undergoing security checks...". They even sent me a letter a month ago that stated erroneously that my greencard was mailed to me in March :eek:. That's what I meant by junk mail. So those letters came to my current address and the biometrics notice (the important one) came to my very old address. :(

no always. at least not for me.
I was informed that my 485 was approved after WOM law suit. so i guess my name check was cleared some time in september. :D

Name Check

Hi,
I called the USCIS to check the status of my case today. The representative told me the case is in process but she refused to tell me if Name Check is over or not. She asked me check the status of my case on USCIS website in 2-3 weeks. When I had called last month they told me that they are waiting for reply from FBI for Name Check. Does anyone has any idea what this means? My case detail is:

Priority Date: 11/1999
I-140 AD 10/2005
I-485 RD 02/03/2006
FP 3/31/2006

Just returned back from infopass appointment. My namecheck is still pending.
Sorry to disappoint some folks here, but 2-nd or 3-rd fingerprinting does not indicate name check is over. I had mine (the 3-rd one) few weeks back.
I guess the only option left is to sue them.

I called VSC today: MY NAME / SECURITY CHECK IS STILL PENDING.
SECURITY CHECKS WERE ORDERED ON 22ND DECEMBER, 2004.
USCIS knows better.

At last my name check/back ground check completed and wait goes on ?????.
NC initiated on APR 15 2004 and NC cleared on SEP 29 2006.The lady at Dallas Dist office told me and wait for 60 to 180 days......

Can some body tell me what is the next step in process,I mean to again transfer to Service center ????
