Stuck in Name Check??? Let's track it

From FBI...

I have received an email from FBI in response to my inqurey made in Dec 04. It's for my daughter who is 15. she did FP in July 04 and that's when my 485 was approved. Here is what the mail says:

The FBI completed a name check for ****** on March 31, 2005, and the
results were forwarded to the United Sates Citizenship and Immigration
Services Headquarters, Washington, DC.

Questions:
1. It only says "results", does it mean cleared?
2. why it's sent to Wahshington DC instead of Vermont where our cases were processed?

That response means your daughters name check is done and result sent to USCIS (they usually do not say the actual result though that wording means result was successful and aname check cleared.)

They do not send results to individual USCIS centers, just to DC HQ, it's in USCIS plate to send those results to proper center.

All in all looks like your daughter will be approved soon. Good Luck!

They are still answering e mails from December. I had called in yesterday and that is what the lady told me. So the wait continues. I believe FOIA is faster but that does not tell if the results were sent to the USCIS or not.

Does Name Check need clear twice or more

Hi,

My first name check was completed on Jule 23, 2003 after 6 months of request by USCIS. The second time name check was performed on August 24, 2004 because I did second FP. Now FP was cleared after one week, but my second-time-name check was pending on FBI.
Recently I got the interview in local USCIS, but I did not got the approval because of the name clearance.

How long does Name Check validate ?

I received the following response from VSC today on opening up 2nd Inquiry for my 485 application files with RD 09/26/03.
----------------------
The processing of your petition/application has been delayed. All
petition/applications received by this Service are required to have routine
security checks that are resulting in delays. As a result of the lack of
manpower to complete the checks in a timely manner, we have no control over how long these checks will take. We can give no definite indication of
when they will be completed. We apologize for the delay.
----------------------

I had sent an e-mail to FBI on Dec 16, 2004. No reply yet. Called the FBI no. and was told by the lady that they are replying to mails in December and asked me to wait for another 2 weeks before giving a call back.
What to do next ? Any suggestions.. Would local Congressman help here ?

I guess there is not much you could do about it. You have to wait till you get the response email the go for FOIA and then Hardy, Hooton ( with Congressman or Senater if they agree).

Thats all what you can do.

how to find out whether application is stuck in name check

how can I find out whether my application is stuck is name check or not.

My details:
1) I-140/I-485 RD = 20 Oct 2004
2) I-140 AD = 27 April 2005
3) I-485 Pending

Lawyer says they will file an enquiry , but it takes around 3-4 months to get a response from USCIS. How can I expedite the process. I desparately need to know where is my application stuck.

Is there a way to find out the status of the application fast??
