Stuck in Name Check??? Let's track it

Friends,

I am new to this forum. I have one question please help me out.

My I-485 application is send out on last week of June'2005 just before retrogation. I did not received reciept yet. Just want to know here is, If I get receipt of I-485 than my case is accepted? and will be processed further?

Is ther any other conditions to know my case is accepted or not? Any numbers to call?

I am waiting for almost an year from aug04 thats when i was intervwd, I was told background/name check was the factor otherwise everything was fine, now its been 2 months after name check is completed, still waiting for approval....

How does one know that USCIS initiated a name check? and is that the same thing as fingerprint review? thanks for your input

I have a feeling that "pending on name check" is sometimes
USCIS's standard reply when they do not have anything to say.
What do you guys think ?

I asked USCIS about FP but they answered it with "name check".
But some people get FP notice before name check clearance.
FP-ing must be done after FBI name check ?

USCIS told me to allow 120 days before any further inqury.
If I make frequent inquiry, would it adversely affect my petition ?

Jun2004 got cleared? are they skipping us 2003 victims??
hehee hopefully not! but obviously they work in a mysterious way.
I have been through several cycles of feelings. curious, inpatient, angry, sad. you name it. now after 20 month, it has blended into the whole general problems of life. don't really notice it anymore. thicker skin!!!
congrats for Dima who finally got it after 2+ yrs!!!
