Hello,
I am a U.S. citizen and I have been teaching in China over 4.5 years now. I will have been married to a Chinese woman for 4 years come this December. Our daughter is 2.5 years old now. I have been told that I must produce income tax returns to prove that I can support my family in the U.S. Of course, I cannot do that because I have been teaching here for a few years now. I do have enough income to support my family but nothing I pay taxes on. Immigration requires that I show proof which I cannot do.

I do not have any family in the U.S. that can qualify and we have posted many places seeking a sponsor for the last year and a half but no one has offered to help. I can promise your help will never cost you anything but the time to complete the government forms and I can pay you for that. If someone can help me bring my family home, please email us. We would appreciate it more than you know.

This sounds more like a sponsorship request than a immigration question.
As a US citizen, have you not filed any US income tax while working in China?
 
You're not going to get strangers who want to be a co-sponsor. Why should they take on that liability for somebody they don't know?

You need to move back to the US without your wife, find a job, and then apply to bring her to the US.

And apply for a US passport for your daughter from the closest consulate in China, if you haven't already done so. Otherwise, as she gets older it can become more difficult to establish her US citizenship.

That's assuming the OP can't show enough funds saved up from his years of teaching in China. The reason they are asking for income tax forms is to verify world income..if he never filed US income tax like he was supposed to, then he may be in for even bigger issues if he moves back to US.
 
You can pull it off on your own. First, file tax returns for the years you have been in China. Then you need to move back to the US, set up domicile there and then sponsor your wife.
