Hi,
can I sponsor my brother or sister (if any of them have a family, like spouse and children) to get a GC status?
I have a GC status right now.
does it make any difference if I do that when I become a US citizen?
Mfghazi,
Your parents cannot sponsor your married siblings. They can only sponsor your unmarried siblings, and that will take 6-7 years and those siblings cannot get married until one of your parents becomes a US citizen or they receive their GCs.
So you are saying that if a person has one child who is USC, but another one who is married and not a USC, then that person cannot cannot sponsor that married child and his/her family?
If your answer is yes, then I know many people who should not have become USC because their USC parents have other unmarried USC children.
