Hi:

I have an Indian passport and a US Green Card and have long layovers in Singapore during my upcoming trip. I think I need a Singapore visa to do some sightseeing. I looked up websites for directions and none were clear about obtaining the from the US. I think there is a way to obtain the visa electronically as well.

Could someone please let me know how I can get started? Also, what kind of visa I will require?

Thank you so much!

Hi, I am a Singapore PR living in the US right now. When you have Green card in the US, you won't be having any isssues getting a visit visa at the Port of entry. They give you a visa called "Day Pass" when you are on transit. Have fun at Singapore. Take a cab or Train, no need to worry about anthing. Its a secured wonderland. have fun lah....ok...lah...you can lah....

Show them your passport, greencard and the boarding pass for the next flight. You will most likely be granted entry into Singapore. Enjoy the city and make sure you have their famous "Fish Head Curry" :)

Could someone please let me know how I can get started? Also, what kind of visa I will require?

Looks like I don't need to get a prior visa after all. I contacted their immigration dept and they sent me this as a part of their response:

5 We would also like to inform that under the current Visa Free Transit Facilities (VFTF) guidelines, PRC and Indian nationals who are in transit to or from any third country by air will be eligible for the 96-hour visa free transit facility (VFTF) if they are in possession of a valid onward air ticket departing within the next 96-hours and satisfy the following criteria:

Possess a valid visa/long term pass (validity of at least 1 month) issued by any of the following countries**:
(a) Australia
(b) Canada
(c) Japan
(d) New Zealand
(e) United Kingdom
(f) United States of America
(g) Germany
(h) Switzerland

Thank you for all of your suggestions! :)
