Should I bring a guest to my oath taking?

My oath taking is this Friday on the Intrepid in New York City. It's a special oath taking ceremony in celebration of Veteran's Day. My question is - should I bring a guest to the ceremony? The letter says I can bring up to 2 guests. The issue is my guest would be coming out of town and would have to miss work that day. I was wondering if it's worth it for him to come. I'm not sure how long the actual ceremony is and how much will guests actually see or if they will just have to wait outside or something. Thoughts?

Depends how much it means to you and your guest. If it's too much hassle for guest to miss work, then let it be. If not, have guest come see a once in a lifetime event on the Intrepid. They are announcing sunny skies for Friday :)

Hey,
I'll be sworn in on Friday on the USS Intrepid.
My wife can't make it, I'll ask my in-laws...
I agree, it's not the usual nasty courthouse building, this is going to be nice!
