But make sure you keep following up as when they say getting something in the mail soon it depends on how quickly does the officer who approved you puts in other requests to generate the receipts. Sometimes they forget and you keep waiting... I would say if u don't get anything in 15 days go take an info pass and start bothering the hell out of them..

Guess what i just had a big argument in my case with the officer. I am getting to a point of frustration with these idiots.
 
Frustration is due to the messed up situation that USCIS has created in my case.
I have sent multiple I-90's with a delivery confirmation and it has been delivered and they keep sending me letters saying if u haven't got ur card file i-90.

Then i have filed I-751 and haven't got any receipt. My drivers license expires and the DMV will not give me a renewal till i show my GC. I have a stamp in my passport which shows i am a permanent resident but they don't accept that as the proof. They need a receipt for my I-90 saying i have applied to get a new card issued.

It's just a never ending situation. And now even the congressman's office is not returning my calls. I can see they are avoiding talking to me. When i was in NY the congressman was really nice and used to get on top of things. But the one in NJ i don't think so does anything.

Me and my wife have been spreading the word to make sure that people know the reality.

i am thinking of going to the media with this details to let people know if my situation is not resolved within next 1 month.

I actually don't care about GC. I just want to end this mess and not worry about it. The only reason i am trying to get my GC is because i am not interetsed in citizenship and would like to avoid having to file for one in case i do not get my GC soon.

My I-751 has been accepted and GC has been extended for 1 year. So now my situation is
1. i am a permanent resident and not a conditional resident
2. Based on my NOA for I-751 i am a conditional resident since feb 15 2006 and my GC is extended for 1 year.
3. I am also a conditional resident since Nov 2007 and need to file my I-751 2 years from then
4. I am also a conditional resident since June 2006 and need to file my I-751 accordingly

On my Physical Green Card the situation is:
1. i have my conditional card with me (which i don't)
2. I need to file I-90 to get my GC which i have done multiple times
3. I cannot get a new GC as my I-751 is pending

But above all i have a stamp of permanent resident (not processed for I-551) in my passport valid till august 08.
 
What i have implied is i do not want to be a permanent resident if its such a mess.
I would rather go back to my home country as me and my wife anyways are planning but before i go i want to make sure this unusual mess is cleaned up.
Me and my wife do not see any benefit being in US and have full intentions of going back home.
 
I finally received my New GC...but it expires on 2/15/08 the same date as the first one i had received in June 06.

I-751 is filled NOA with one year extension received and FP is on 2/22/08. So i guess i will get another new GC soon after FP.

But finally this mess seems to be coming to an end...hopefully.

Guess what i get a call from vermont service center asking me if i received my new card...the IO on the phone said they have ordered new card for me...i said i haven't received anything yet as i am again confused. Now i am wondering what card are they talking about...the one which they mailed me in Feb and was valid for just 2 weeks or the one for 10 years....i hope this is not another big mess....
But my I-751 case has an update on feb 25th after i went for finger prints on feb 22nd. The status says currently being processed by Vermont service center.
 
Uhmm...Did you tell him that indeed you received a card but has an expiration date of 2/15/08? and what he said about it?

Well probably something is moving since your case had so many issues.

My case does not has any update online, same thing since the beginning.
 
I said i haven't received anything and i added saying i have a card that expired on feb 15th....she was like ok and gave me her number saying she will be in touch and will be working with me to resolve the case. This is getting interesting though...
 
I finally am seeing some light at the end of the tunnel. This thread hopefully will be coming to an end as soon as i receive my 10 year GC unless there are more surprises in store for me.
As of April 17th card production has been ordered under my cancelled I-751 application. Who cares where as long as i get the card in my hand and it's not expiring for next 10 years.
 
i finally received my 10 year card on 4/25/08. It was sent with application receipt # of I-751.
But just to let you all know i have the residence since date as Aug 22 2007 on my new card.
My original conditional card was Feb 06 but on the 10 year card my residence since date is aug 07 so i guess i lost 1 and half year of residence to count towards being eligible for citizenship. But the thing that confuses me is then how come the new 10 year card has the receipt # of I-751. It should have had the receipt # of my I-485 application instaed.
I am thinking if i should still continue to follow up or just forget it and be happy with the 10 year card.
I had also received a letter my fees for I-751 will be refunded as i did not have to file that ????? but will take months due to processing backlog......
I also received a letter saying i can file for N 400 3 years from August 22 2007 so in august 2010.
