Security Bond Payment Before H1B Sponsorship

Please help!

The only thing that worries me is that they've asked me to shell out a significant amount of money in US dollars before they file my H1B application. They said this amount will ensure my stay with them and told me that they will return the money after staying with them for a certain period of time. They also told me that I will need to pay for my travel expenses to the US if my Visa gets approved but will be refunded once I get there.

Sounds like a shady company, I would rather stay away. Be aware of scammers.

This is not the normal procedure.

But h1 processing and attorney fees sky rocketing and applicants are honest in their part, practically companies want to safe guard their investments.

This is up to individual to decide, there are too many companies there to cheat you. Enquire with friends or known people before joining. Award and US address in web site is not the authenticity of a company credentials.

Please help!

I'm promised to be sponsored by a US company. They've interviewed me through my cellphone and emailed me an employment agreement which seems to be valid. I've emailed them all the documents required. I've researched about them and they seem to be a legal company in the US. Their website has their US address and phone number. The company even had an award as one of the top performing IT companies from a well-known recognition-giving body so to speak. The only thing that worries me is that they've asked me to shell out a significant amount of money in US dollars before they file my H1B application. They also told me that I will need to pay for my travel expenses to the US if my Visa gets approved but will be refunded once I get there. Anyone here has had successful H1B Application having the same experience as me? Is this a normal procedure from an H1B Sponsoring Company? To successful H1B applicants, were you asked for a security bond as well? Please help, anyone. Thanks a lot.

Travel expenses to be borne by H1B holder is understandable but asking for a lumpsum money without giving breakdown of expenses and giving lame excuse for collecting significant amount of money is a potential fraud.

Please explore your option, what if the company sponsors you and after joining puts you to be on bench.

Please remember that one of the purpose of coming to USA is to make money and not to lose money.
