Hi guys,

Just wanted to share my experience for anyone who may be or know someone in a similar situation.
I completed my naturalization interv on wednesday, my Interview was scheduled for 7AM at NYC Garden City DO, I was called around 7:30 AM and my interview lasted all of 15 mins, the IO was simple great very professional we complete the civic portion of the exam first, then we went through the appl quickly, sign the pic and application. Now here is the schocker my IO inform me that she will have her supervisor review my application I figure I would be sent home to wait for the decision, but I was asked to sit and wait outside for the supervisor. Two hours later my IO and her supervisor emerged with my green card, my congrats letter, instructions to wait for my Oat letter and instruction on how to cancel my current U.S. passport, WOW......even my attorney was schock because she had previously advise me that she didnt believe my case would be adjudicated anything soon due to the complexity of it.

Some background information on my shit storm of a case, my father naturalized in 2004 before my 18th bday applied for my U.S. passport, which I was later issued 3 years later I applied for N600 cert and was denied, had some quack of a lawyer filed the appeal late so it was rejected, then had another lawyer file and N600 app which was again denied so I finally gave up and applied for my N400 and now its almost over. I registed and voted back in 2004, but thankfully it wasnt held against me.

DO NYC brooklyn.
6/12/09 N400 app mailed.
6/15/09 PD
7/10/09 Fingerprint.
3/3/10 LUD update.
4/7/10 Interview.
5/4/10 Oath.

Congratulations!

I am rather curious why your N-600 applications were denied. If your father became a U.S. citizen before you turned 18 and if you had a green card at the time and lived with your father, you should have derived U.S. citizenship through him at the time. So what went wrong?

USCIS claims that I was not legitmated before my 16 bday, eventhough he sign my birth certificate parents married 6 months later just my luck!

Congratulations!

Very good question. Hope you learned immigration laws are very complicated.

So if your deravative citizenship was rejected, on what bases did you file your N-400? Did you have greencard? Thanks

Isn't that what you were telling your clients?

Faysal, just what exactly are you insinuating here? Bobsmyth's signature pretty clearly indicates that he is not a lawyer so he has no "clients" and has not been telling them anything.
He is one of the most knowledgeable participants of this forum and his posts never said that the post office issues U.S. passports.

On the other hand, I have seen quite a few of your posts with bad advice and incorrect information as well as outright rudeness. You should really get your own act together first and display a bit more humility and competence.

Should a clause needed to be added to the standard phrase " US is equal opprtunity country regardless of religion, creed, color, race, etc"?
like "intelligence, etc"

What if the OP had not filed for N600 and simply used US passport and renewling it forever?

Perhaps the state department would eventually discover during further investigation that the OP wasn't a USC.

Unless the applicant does something the state hate so much that they want to try all means to deny passport,
I doubt they would bother to start any investigation.
