medical test

expires after 1 year if u have not submitted documents.

It has been noticed that people do medical before I-140 gets approved. They do this to save time anticipating that their I-140 gets approved. But if there is delay the medical test is still valid for one year and they have to submit I-485 application before the medical test expires.

Once I-485 is filed medical test does not expire.

Fingerprints however expire 15 months from the time they are taken. So if there is delay from fp to adjudication and the delay is more than 15 months you will have to redo the fp again.

No.. Medical tests have forever validity once you have applied 485

But the only caveat is you should have applied 485 within 1 year from doing the medical tests. Afterthat however longer it takes for the INS to adjudicate your case, your medical test is valid.

I had that worry initially, as I did medical in Feb 2001, but was able to apply 485 only in June 2001. Hope this helps.

BVM, update for your spreadsheet - zen0 : status approved 03/18!

firstly, today we got the approval notices!
the AVM says approved on March 18th

looks like INS is really trying to improve their efficiency.

I believe our RFE response was sent on 03/12
thanks to this forum, I already had all possible papers (W2/paystubs/etc) ready and when the lawyer told me about the RFE I handed those to him the documents immediately.

the AVM had changed to response recd. on 03/14 (checked 03/15)
and then four more days ... approved!!!

Good luck to all the folks who are waiting for approvals. Hope everybody gets approved soon.

may try to go get the stamp tomorrow. will post experience later on.
