RFE on my I-485

President,

I am not thinking about the undelivered doc for FPs(I gave the FP2 in May2007 and there ends the story).

I am worried about the RFE on my 485, which was mailed on 16th July.
I am calling my atty everyday & alas they did not receive it till today.

Anandkan's atty already got it, and I have no clue what is happening with my case & why it is taking so many days to arrive.

It is difficult to concentrate on anything.

I am a worried person now.:mad:

I understand your frustration.I will give you one simple yet effective suggestion. It worked for me, believe me.Send fax/emails to your congressman every alternate day to get the status of your RFE. 90% of the cases they respond.USCIS clowns respond positively to congressman...they can't fool around the way they do it to us...make a honest and sincere attempt and I'm sure you'll tell me the good news...good luck

I will wait till next Monday and call them again to resend it to me & my atty by mail and fax.
If this wont work, I will take infopass and go to local office, and keep sending mails/faxes to local congressman every alternate day.
 
Folks,

After verifying with my attorney yesterday (they did not receive any RFE), I called the TSC and and requested the IO to resend the elusive RFE again.

I have sent a request to my local congressman to help me with this mess.

Lx95, Make sure you respond to the RFE within the time limit else they will deny or issue NOID. If it's medical related RFE, they will give 12 weeks time to respond.

I asked the IO to resend it, and took Infopass appt for 10th Aug.

You have any more suggestions?

For RFE they normally give 90 days (or 12 weeks) time.
I think I have enough time to get out of this limbo.

Finally I got RFE from the attorney, It is about EVL.

I have a question about visa number for cases where I-485 medical RFE is sent. Does Service Center 1. Review case, 2. Issue RFE, 3. Receive response, 4. Verify response is satisfactory and then 5. Request visa number and 6. Approve.
OR
review case, request visa number, issue rfe, receive rfe response, verify response and then approve.

Does any one have idea about the process for medical RFE for I-485 and sequence of events, especially in the wake of June 30th, July1st storm of approvals.

It's an interesting question. We wish we have an answer for that. If option 2 is correct, we will get the approval soon, else we are stuck at least till Oct.

I see that you are waiting for approval for over a month after submitting your response to the RFE. It's pretty bad.
 
Guys,

How long does it usually take for the RFE to show up on the online status?

I received one for the TB skin test. I had it done and sent it back and according to the tracking number sent to me by the lawyer TSC got it on Monday morning.

I'm trying to not check it every hour but you know what it's like.

As soon as I hear anything I'll let you know.
 
My response to the skin test RFE was received by TSC last Friday (Aug 3) but still no update to my case online. Keeping my fingers crossed.
 
Update after RFE response

USCIS received my response to NOID (medical skin test) on Aug 06, and I had a LUD on the same day saying that RFE reponse has been received and processing resumed..
 
Just got the acknowledgement from USCIS about them receiving my RFE. The message is....


Current Status: Response to request for evidence received, and case processing has resumed.

On August 9, 2007, we received your response to our request for evidence. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service. You should expect to receive a written decision or written update within 60 days of the date we received your response unless fingerprint processing or an interview are standard parts of case processing and have not yet been completed, in which case you can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done.

Could people who have submitted their RFE's and got an acknowledgement email, post what the message is to see whether they are all the same or are they different.

Mine said 60 days to a decision and the message can be seen a few responses up from this one.
