How long does it take for the next IL to arrive if I decide to reschedule the interview?

Is it recommended?

And the reason: Currently volunteering overseas.

Thank you!:)

Philly DO and I am not in a rush, it will be good to have it because I would like to vote this year, but it is not something that I cant live without for the moment :D

My concern is once I decide to reschedule it, it might somehow end up at the bottle of the sea and nv be found again and I will have to call and call and write for them to even bother

Thank U!

If you are not in a hurry to obtain citizenship, like to participate in one of the most important presidential elections of the past few decades (I am exaggerating a bit for effect) then go ahead and reschedule. It should take a couple of months or so, but you might be able to indicate the period you will be out of the country so they don't schedule you during that period. I haven't done this myself so I completely ignore the details. If you have to reschedule you have to reschedule, but don't come back here crying if you don't get a reschedule interview letter in two or three months and start wondering if something has gone terribly wrong ;) I'm just kidding. I think most interview reschedules work ok, without glitches, but there is always a possibility of a glitch.

Why would you want to screw up with the process that's unpredictable? You might end up getting stuck for a while. I'd say just do it (© Nike).

Cheers.

I thought ppl who applied before certain date can have a choice btw the old and the new one during the interview?

I can hardly imagine they'd let me wait for another yr.

i think the date is 10/01/2008, if u apply after this date u will have the new test or if u apply before this date but will be interviewed after 10/01/2009, u will also have the new test, correct me if i am wrong.

You're correct. Also, if an application is submitted prior to Oct. 2008, but the interview is conducted after Oct. 2008 (but before Oct. 2009), the applicant will be given a choice of taking either the new or the old test.

DocyBear, please let me know if you decide to re-schedule... I'll be more than happy to take your interview appointment spot! :D Looks like they buried my file in the backyard and pee'd on it.

Let's hope they pissed on teh file after buring it and not before. Otherwise that will be a messy retrevial and interview!

That is too funny albertr. Is great to see some sense of humor despite the agony USCIS inflicts on people.
