Hey Guys! I am excited like anything. I received Finger Printing notice today. My I-485 dates are as follows:

RD: Sept. 25, 2000

ND: Oct. 19, 2000

FP: 04/08/04

I am soooo... excited. The wait seems to be coming to an end. I also firmly believe that this has something to do with judge's order of 22,000 pending visas and CIS has decided to move applications quickly.

Best of luck to everybody,

Warm Wishes,
Lazer

Just to give you a sence of reality - my wife had FP August, 2003 but still waiting for final AOS decision. The process is slow now days. You can measure it by the number of people posting their approvals.

Very painfull.....

:(

For "InQ4GC", he wrote in his earlier post that he had his FP in Los Angeles on 08/15/03 and got his GC approval in 11/03 and got his plastic GC 01/12/04.

Good for you Lazer.

According to the Asylee adjustment table,
May 13, 2000-Nov. 6, 2000 Oct. 1, 2005-Sept. 30, 2006
you're one year ahead if you get your approval next year, so probably, as you said, it has something to do with judge's order.

Good luck!!

Good for you guys :) i'm so glad it is finaly moving.

My RD, however, is March 14, 2000 and I still haven't received anything yet.
I just hope they didn't mess up something, it is very hard to verify anything with them.

Alex

Question for Lazerthegreat re case status on USCIS web site

Hi, a question for Lazerthegreat and others who received FP notice: did your case status online change? I.e. if you type in your case number for your I-485 notification, does it say "Fingerprint notice sent" or something like that?

I am always paranoid that the envelope will get lost in mail or that one of my roommates will throw it away with the supermarket sales notice...

(one would think they'd use certified mail or UPS for these things....)

THANKS!!!!

i think the online status wont change

In my experience the online status did not change to reflect that a FP notice has been mailed. The First time the message changed was when they requested a RFE .....

Regards,

Unfortunately it does NOT state online of any FP notice sent. It displays the same old message....

They said that I had lied to them about my illegal entry in the country and on basis of that they will not adjust my application as I was ineligible.

I enlisted a lawyer's assistance to prepare I-602. Basic arguments were:

I was the one who informed then INS officer regarding how I had entered the country so I did not covered it up and that is how they knew I had arrived. Even with this argument it still does not change the fact that entry was illegal and thus not authorized to be adjusted according to the law. But law does give you a provision to submit I-602 form which is basically a request to forgive and ask for clemency. I-602 request has to be substantiated as on what basis one is requesting forgiveness. My lawyer submitted my original statement to INS describing my particular situation and also submitted Department of State's current assesment of my situation which has not changed thus making a point that situation is still hostile. Another point that can be made is of family relations in US. My both kids are born here and my lawyer also talked about family hardship if my case is denied.

I hope this information helps. If you need more information please search my posts in Aug 03 - Nov 03 time frame as I have thoroughly documented the process as I was moving step by step

Regards,

I would not need this dreaded waiver as I entered country legally. But thanks for detailed information.

Now my question is that should I go ahead and do medical exam (which is valid for 1 year) now or should I wait till RFE. Because in certain instances, some people were just approved after FP without requiring RFE? I don't know how that happened? But do you think that it would be a wise idea to do medical before receiving RFE, as medical exam procedure can take 1 month.

Any input or opinions are appreciated.
best,
Lazer

Medical exams do no take that much time to schedule or complete. Since you do not know that they will even request you for the medical exam If I were you then I will not schedule and pay for it unlcess requested by the USCIS. (I think medical exam will cost you approximately $ 200 or more ...there is no need to throw away that money)
