I-485 Receipt and EAD ...
I-485 Mailing Date: January 5, 2002.
I-485 Receipt Date: January 8, 2002.
I-485 Notice Date: January 17, 2002.
Attorney received Receipt notice on January 24, 2002.
I received copy of receipt on February 3, 2002.
(Not sure why attorney delayed; currently not making an issue of it).
Went to Boston Local INS office on Monday, February 7 2002 @10.30 a.m.
(NOTE: Try to get there at 7.00 a.m. when office opens - much less people).
Applied for EAD in person
(documents: I-485 receipt copy, I-765, $100 money order,
passport w/ H1-B visa and I-94 card, GC-style photo).
Receieved card at 1.30 p.m. same day (would have been earlier except for 45 minute lunch break of person doing cards).

ND:1/31/02 (write in notice)
checks collected yesterday, mailing notice receive today. waiting for EAD/AD and FP notice
But AVM says: your application for...was received at Junuary 31 2002....
What is may RD?
In my case, the processing speed is quite normal and comparable with the previous cases. So do not worry. The notice will coming soon. Good luck, every one.

EAD Received
I applied EAD separately 3 months after filing I-485. And I got my EAD card
today, without receiving approval notice.
EAD: MD 01/06/02
ND: 01/11/02
card received: 02/08/02
Quite fast.
