RE: No Filing or Biometric Fees for Iraqi Nationals

Most likely because as US employees or contractors they have previously been fingerprinted by the the US.

Many of us have been previously fingerprinted even a couple of times, they have checked and rechecked our name, pictures, you name it, everything and we still don't get a break with our fees. Why should they ???

Perhaps it's because Iraqi's working for the US government in Iraq face great dangers in doing so and this is a ways to repay them for taking the risk.

Well, look at this. Give the rabbit a carrot, then hit it with a stick !!!

ORR (Office of Refuge Resettlements)
DHHS ( Department of Health & Human Services)

No ORR-funded benefits or services may be provided to the Iraqi or Afghan Special Immigrant after six months from their date of entry to the U.S. No additional assistance or services will be provided for the months of eligibility that occurred prior to the effective date of the law, December 26, 2007, or prior to the date of application for ORR benefits and services.

It all means, we give you 6 months to get your act together. After that, you are on your own. Very nice !!!

That actually applies to all refugees and asylees after either coming into the USA as a refugee or getting approved asylum status. You can only get medicaid and ORR-funded benefits/services for 6 months. So nothing new.

What I was trying to point out is the fact that is FREE for them.- Wouldn't it be nice if we got a break too ???
:D:D:D

I saw a program on PBS and in it refugees from Africa also got assistance for food and low rent housing for a few months, probably 6. Then they had to be on their own and it was very hard for them.

Would you be willing to serve in Iraq to get that free break?

These are not people that serve in IRAQ, these conditions ALSO apply to Iraqi nationals that are serving the US Govt.

I have never heard or seen people or groups of people like us who just got hit with a 100% increase in most applications for USCIS get such bad service and still pay for it and still cope with it, like dumb lambs who have nowhere to go, or nothing to say.

Regardless of the status quo, of those who do not wake up to reality that this situation with USCIS is perennial and that Congress does not fix it, because one would think they want to keep it this way so they can always say "oohh, we have work to do, we have got to fix this ".

Come on people, wake up and smell the coffee. This is bull.
