Re-Entry with Travel Document

Hi Freedom,

I am sorry, but I don't think I can help you on your last questions. I am not sure what the procedure is for petitioning a derivative asylum for a relative. Maybe you can setup an Infopass and ask the questions to an Immigration officer. Also, try to call the National Visa Center as well. They are very helpful and they are open until 12am eastern time. I don't know if they can help you once the case is transfered to a local US Consulate, but maybe they can guide you with what to do next. Also, maybe contacting your congressman/woman and senator might help.

Good luck
Best regards,

PS. Also, maybe create a new thread with these questions, so that more people can view your questions (there are many experienced people on this form who might be able to help you)

Guys, enlighten me here
since my assylum approval, I have travelled once to Canada. at that time, during my entry, the agent took my ORIGINAL I94, asked me to fill a new one and gave it to me after putting a seal in it. here is what it says; asylum status granted pursuant to section 208 INA. then there is another line which says valid to and he put the day of my work permit expiration date. I no longer have the original which says "asylum status granted indefinitely pursuant to section 208 INA". I have a copy of the original and each time I feel my renewal of work permit I send them the original copy. do I have to have the original I-94? when will I need the original one? let me know
obviously as you know, the numbers of each I94 are different.

Don't worry about it. I traveled abroad gave the airline my original I-94 was issued new ones when I came back with different stamps that had my status validity as indefinite or expired after one year and I got my green card and everything is fine. So the officers do not know what they are doing so let them go ahead and do whatever they think is right. If you need proof of status, provide your asylum grant letter

He should have put "indef", at least that is what I got from every port of entry. Just file for new I-94, requesting the fee waiver because it is their error.

I disagree. I once consulted an attorney about this and she told me that it doesn't matter what the i-94 says. She told me the most important thing is that the asylum grant is indefinite...

Has anybody ever filed online application for a travel document.

I have and it is very efficient. You just have to send them photos and the old RTD if you have it. I liked the process much better than mailing the entire application and you get the receipt right away...

hello,
you mean you send two photos by mail or email? And i olsa heard i do not need to send my expired RTD.Is that correct?
sincerely

You get a confirmation once you file your app on-line. You print that confirmation and you enclose it with two photos and an old RTD. I have not heard that you don't need to send your old. I always do.
