Re-entering US from Canada with i-94

Hi! I've tried searching for a solid answer to this question, but haven't really found one yet, so any info would be really appreciated!

For an Iranian student studying in Canada and visiting the US with an i-94 (6 month entry, and it says "multiple" on it, I assume that's referring to multiple entry?), is it possible to leave the US and go to Canada, and then return again in 60 days? Ordinarily, I think this wouldn't be a problem, except that Iranians apparently aren't capable of receiving automatic revalidation. We asked the US embassy in Canada, and they said that Iranians are not allowed to have multiple entry visas.. If that's the case, why does the i-94 say multiple? And why did the officer at the port of exit ask if we desired to hang onto the i-94? It seems to me that it wasn't multiple entry, he wouldn't have asked that question...

THANKS SO MUCH!!

You should be able to re-enter using that I-94.

60 days it too much. The absense should be 30 days or less. Also, you are not supposed to visit countries other than Canada or Mexico (in some cases adjacent isands as well). So, if you expect to have a short trip to Iran from Canada and then back during those 30 days, that is not allowed. Also, if you are a national of Iran or other sponsors of state terrorism, you cannot use this feature unlessyour visa is not expired.
