I got married in the MD district in feb of 06, filed on nov 06. and finally had my Interview in june 07. i've had 2 work permits(the 1st and the renewal) btn this periods. The interviewer told me and my wife(US Citizen) that we'll hear frm them and she like us as couple and she'll vote for us (not knowing what she meant). i just received a letter frm the USCIS Baltimore district where i had my interview in june of 07 and it stated:

Reference is made to the the Application to register permanent resident or adjust status for I-485, which you filed with the service.you were either never processed for fingerprints and/or biometrics or the validity of your fingerprints expired.(i know i did this b4 i received my 1st work permit)
In order to process ur application USCIS must obtain valid fingerprints and biometrics. You have been scheduled to appear at any of the Application support centers listed below within the next 30 days(which i just did). if u fail to appear within 30 days of this notice your App will be considered abandoned and the service will terminate all action.

so my question remains, how does it affect my application, this thing is getting on my nerves for over 2 yrs. im tired of spending money renewing my work permit every other year. has anyone had any such experience, pls share wit me since im getting more frustrated.

This is a good sign. It means that they are about to approve your application, but since your old FP check expired they need to redo it.

you have to wait until FBI does the FP check and would that make sure everything is ok. Once you have done your FP, you can contact FBI and ask them whether they received FP from USCIS ?

You will need your A-number when calling the FBI at 304-625-5590

so what if the FBI says they did not receive anything? sorry for all this questions.....its been dragging for too long now and getting frustrated with this whole thing . thanks y'all.

ok guys ........i just went online to check my Application Status, and this is what it reads.

On June 24, 2008, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service.

I Received the mail which was addressed to my wife asking us to contact our local office and file for I-48 (i'm sure they meant I-485) or I-824.... which i know we did already.
it's getting more confusing now. what does it mean folks. thanx in advance.

Make info pass appointment and when you go there, tell them you want to see whether your name check is cleared or not, then they'll tell you what is your case status, there is nothing else anybody can do. Good luck!

Thanks........going to wait for another 30 days and will call USCIS or make an infopass as some of y'all have suggested. that looks like a sigh of relieve. thanks again.
