ok tomorrow is my biometrics appointment.

Here are my questions:

After my biometrics can i go outside the US and mail the reentry permit to the country where im going to?
Or should i wait for the approval of my application?

beacuse i've read the other threads that i need to wait for several months for the permit and i cant wait for that long.

Thanks in advance and sorry for my bad english :)

IF it is merely a re-entry permit (meaning you have a greencard and a valid passport), you can depart. IF you need the REP to substitute in place of a passport OR it is really a Refugee Travel Document, then you have to wait for it.

You must be in the US when the application is filed (including when USCIS recieves it), and again for biometrics. But you can leave the US between those two points in time, and once you've done biometrics you can leave again and wait for the approval abroad.

Once approved, you can have somebody send it to you abroad (don't send it by mail, send it by private courier!). The application form also provides the option to have USCIS send the approved permit to a US consulate of your choice, so you can pick it up in the country where you're staying.

ok thanks. that is what i really need to know, and i can not say it because of my limited english :)
thank you very much..

one last question, am i going to have some trouble if im going it to use it first when going back to the US?
sorry this is my first time using a reentry permit.

thank you very much again.. :)

When you filled in the application, did you already ask them to send it to a US consulate where you are going? You cannot change the delivery now, so what you filled in the form is where the permit will go (if they approve it).

No, people get reentry permits so they can avoid trouble when reentering the US after long trips. Normally when they see the reentry permit they let you through quickly and easily without many questions. But if you're on your 2nd or 3rd reentry permit without having spent much time in the US between permits, they might start asking more questions (in any case, if they hassle you you're still better off with the permit than without).

re-entry permit

@ albaro19 Your question has successfuly been answered.
I too believe that you must be physically prensent in the US while applying,
for the re-entry permit, but you can break in between ,but must be physically present again for
biemetric process.
How did your biometrics go?
and for how long did you have to wait, after application for re-entry to get a biometric appointment?
