i am going to do the medical exam for my RFI, i got 2 questions
1) the doctor ask me to bring my passport so that they can write the passport number on the form. my passport has been expired long time ago, can i still use it for the form? or should i bring my RTD (which is also expired,i am applying new one....)?

Another question is just to double make sure that when i finish my RFI, i will send to the address on the top of the yellow letter.....right?

thank you all in advance !!! big help~~~

1) I would give him the RTD since both have expired
2) yes

Passport

Kaoticfury,
I suggest you take your expired passport with you because you have perfect reason for having an expired passport for being an asylee. If you take an expired RTD they might ask you to bring a renewed one. Just my thought.
Answer to your second question is "Yes" like Shamshon suggested because Lazerthegreat sent it on the same address and he already for confirmation that it has been received. Just make sure you send it via certified mail like some other members on this forum has done.
Thanks

I just did not want this person to be under suspicion of those who will work on the case. the doctor may write the passport number on the form and this may raise eyebrows. Better cautious than sorry. She/he could just say that the RTD is still pending

Yeah! do not bring passport. Nobody asked me for any passport. They can live with A# and LIN #

I have also received confirmation (return receipt) when I sent documents to the P.O Box listed on the top right hand corner of the letter.

That is correct! The doctor's office just needs your A# and a valid ID (like DL) to establish identity.

Do not take your national passport. It will only add to the confusion and further delay your adjustment. I wasn't asked for my passport nor did I take it when I did my medicals in 2003. If the doctor's office absolutely need to have a passport - I suggest you find yourself another doctor. There are plenty of them who are authorized to perform immigration physicals.

Good luck.

Usually the doofus people think the A# in the RTD is the passport number which is not...and well they put that as there..if the doc did..it would be no big deall...in my opinion..

my doc asked me today for my passport . i said i donnt have it.she did'n say anything.so it's my experience.she left blank.

My doc didn't ask me for national passport when I came yesterday morning.

I have a question though. How can you tell if your TB skin test was positive or negative?

My arm has some light redness, but not swollen. Five years ago when I did it, if I remember correctly, it was not red and was not swollen so I got a negative result.

I suppose I'll find out tomorrow when I return to the doc office but am just curious now since a lot of you went through this recently.

ok, i just got back, they ask for passport, i told them mine was expired and not supposed use it, they write down the A# instead, but i ask them if they know A# and passport# are different, they say they do know.
it cost $127..much cheaper than i thought

thank you all for your suggestions!!!! ;) :p

I called immigration yesterday and got transfered to IO - very lucky. He told me to use my expired national passport, because they would know that as asylee I can not get a valid one. He also told me to send all information at the address at the corner of the yellow letter.

Exactly what I thought

That's what I suggested in my response to this question coz asylees have perfect excuse for having an expired passport.
