Hello,

I am planning to reapply for REP. I have a few questions?

1. In I-131 application form Part 1 question 3 what should be entered for Class of Admission?
Should I put Green Card/permanent residence.

2. Also when I send the reentry permit application should I send the previous REP along with the application.

3. In I-131 application form Part 3 question 4 what should I mention in Disposition?
Should I put attached.

1. Greencard code: IR-1, CR-6, RE-6, AS-8..........

2. Yes.

3. "attached" if that is the case.

Actually the "class of admission" is not really relevant for the reentry permit; all they care is that you have a green card. You could write LPR, "Green card", ARC, or even leave it blank and they would still approve the permit.

It just happens that they use the same form for Refugee Travel Document and Advance Parole; for those purposes the class of admission is more relevant.

jackolantern is correct about the code. However, please be aware that an I-131 and many other forms (I-130, I-140, I-129, I-765, etc..) will be adjudicated in a receipt file not your A-file. That means that if you do not fully and accurately complete every item on the form, the officer will have to check various computer databases (provided that they are not down) or depending on the information requested may have to order your A-file in order to get information if you do not provide it up front. This circumstance may add time to the processing of the application or petition.

The I-485, N-400 and N-600 are the forms that usually MUST be adjudicated in the A-file. (You may have heard of excessive delays when a T-file (temporary file) is involved.) It is a similar situation with a receipt file.

Also, if your previous RP is expired, you can also just write expired and not attach it. If it is going to expire in, say, 2 months, you can say "set to expire" and not attach it since the processing times are more than 2 months, but that's up to you and depends on the processing times that are prevalent.

BigJoe5, Jackolantern, cafeconleche thanks a lot for spending your valuable time to answer my queries.

As recommended I will respond as follows:
1. Green Card
2. Attach the expired card
3. Attached
