Question on Front/Back copy of I-94 with EAD?

I have several I-94s.

- The one I came in on B1 has only one small piece, with B1 written and Date stamped on the front.

- Three came with H1B1 have two sections, left half with date and the right just name.

When I make copies to submit with EAD, is it the copies of left half, right half or both? I thought the right half is gone once you travelled outside the country, right? The back of the left side has nothing but "Alien's Permenant Record".

Thanks for your help.

Only the latest I94- that shows your current status.
The I94 will say I94 on its top. Usually it is the right bottom half of the H1 approval. It should have a I94 number, expiry date, company name.

I94 is not required for EAD application though.

There are no dates on my lower-right section of I-94, only lower-left. That causes all the confusion. My lawyer didn't mention I-94 either, I think it comes from immihelp.com EAD section.

Guess I'll skip it and send only I485 receipt and old EAD. Don't why they still want it with e-filing and digital collecting. They should have everything with my A#.

Thanks for the anwsers to all my questions.

Wait a second, the Official Document does mention I-94. What's that mean? Shoud I send it/them after all? But isn't the back of I-94 Departure Record always empty? I thought it's handed in to the airline and you get a new one when coming back.

===========================================

If you are mailing your application to the INS, you must also
submit:

-A copy of Form I-94 Departure Record (front and back), if
available.

- A copy of your last EAD (front and back)

- 2 photos with a white background taken no earlier than 30
days before submission to the INS. They should be
unmounted, glossy, and unretouched. The photos should ...

They are asking for back of I-94 since it is annotated if you go for special registration. Also if there are any other annotations, these are made on the back.

I-94 is not just to be handed over to airline while departing, its an important document, its an important proof of your current status.

They are lazy maybe, they don't want to pull out your I-485 to have a look at your I-94, so just send it. It will add one more page for them to go through !

While we are still on the topic, do I send all 4 copies (1 on B1, 3 on H1B1), or just the last one.

While departure, do I hand in all 4 I-94s to the airline or just last one?

Sorry for all the naive questions, I think it's mostly because I on came in once and never departured. Thanks.

When departure from US you have to surrender all your I-94 (staple all with pin and give it to airlines counter with recent I-94 at top) and keep a copy of alll the I-94 front and back and all the approval notices with you for future records.

Sorry. Did not know about special registration.... And the new version of I765 ( I have a old form on my computer... I should follow the advice I give. Check the BCIS site). Thanks for correcting me folks...
