I received a letter from USCIS today. The letter asked me fill in form I-215W, also submit two recent pictures.

Have any of you got such letter before?

Is it because my interview was two years ago?

The questions on the form are like "any changes after last interview, have you been out of country since last interview, what is your current address, phone number." etc...

Thanks,

Did u receive this letter by mail? Are you applying for a boarding paper or what? Please explain what prompts this I-215W. You might have receive the letter in error. This is a trasportation letter. I think it allows you come into the United States in case you loose your GC or you born a Child out of US without a Passport and trying to bring the child in.

My guess is that USCIS wants a sworn record of your current status in order to ensure that you are current and still eligible for naturalization.

Yes, I got it by mail.

I read from somewhere that those questions would be asked before oath ceremony.

I did not know that I would get the quesetions before my case is approved.

I saw the other I-215W form online. That is some "Transportation Letter Questionnaire" from US embassy.

It seems that the questions on the form the USCIS sent to me are a lot different from the questionaire.

The questions I got are very close to my situation. There is even a question asking "whether I am still with my US citizen spouse".

The questions are very much like some continuous interview questions.

I just wonder whether any of other people have ever got it. What will be the next after I submit it?

I guess this is good News for you. because if they are reffering to after yor last interview. I think Oath Ceremony is next.

Good luck and Congratulation in advance.

I went to USCIS office today to submit my I-215W. The officer there said that they should reach decision within 30 days. If I don't hear anything after 30 days, I can contact the local office or call 1-800 number.

I also wanted to confirm my application status with the officer. But, I was not so successful with that. NameCheck, I tried to follow your advice to charm up myself, but, it did not work on her at all. :(

The officer there was friendly, but her answer was not so clear and confirmed as I wanted.

When I asked whether my name check is clear or not, she answered that "we received *something* from FBI, that's why you are receiving your i-215w". When I asked whether my new fingerprint is clear or not, she said "we will see the result from FBI and reach the decision.".

I am not sure whether her answer is kind of standard official answer for USCIS officer, or my case is different from others, which made it hard for her to give me a nice and absolute answer.

Any thoughts?

I got a I-215w in mail too. It says I can mail it in. But I was wondering if I should go to the field office and submit it right there. Mine is San Francisco.

waitforsolong, did you find going through an InfoPass and submitting the form helpful? Thanks.

Oh, my! I just realized that I posted similar information in two threads.

Lisa, I would suggest you go submit your form with infopass. It is safer, faster, and cheaper. :) (If you are not so far away from your field office). Only downside is, you may have to wait a little bit in the office. ( It depends how lucky you are. I went to my LO twice recently. First time I waited more than 30 min to talk to IO. The second time was only about 5-10 min)

Good Luck, Lisa.

Hi all, anyone just mailed this form is ? What's confusing is it's a 'blank' form , so we
are supposed to fill in whatever is applicable ?

Also, if one were to file with infopass, what kinda appointment do we use ?
Thanks!

waitforsolong,
What happened next?

I got the same form. Very curious if you got any luck with your case.

Thanks!

Nothing happened yet :(

I went to local office for inquiry a couple days ago. The officer said that I-215W was indeed the last step. He said my case is on the supervisor's desk for final approval. He told me not to worry.

Well, but it is very hard for me not to worry since my case has been on the supervisor's desk for over one month now.

Hello waitforsolong & lisa_simpson,

I have the very similar time line as lisa's and just received I-215w as well. Plan to go in with an infopass appointment as waitforsonlong suggested.

There's one question asking about any arrest/charge since last interview. The answer is "no" of course. But it seems asking to get "court certified letter of no record", is it only applied to person who asnwered "yes"?

waitforsolong, did you get the court certified letter when you turned in your I-215w at your local office? If so, how did you get that?

Thanks in advance for your answer. Hope this the last step after such a long wait!
