Processing time for green card based on asylum

It sounds like your friend’s case is being reviewed due to the change in status from a K-1 visa (fiancé visa) to asylum. USCIS may need additional time to ensure everything is in order before proceeding with the green card application. The 120-day wait is likely to give their legal team time to review the case. This kind of delay is not uncommon, especially with status changes.

It’s a good idea for your friend to stay patient and, if necessary, consult an immigration attorney to ensure everything is on track.

Best of luck to your friend!

Hello everyone,
Does anyone know when I am filling green card application concurrently with RTD (form I 131) should I pay the RTD fees? or it will be waived!

Since April 2024, it’s not waived anymore. You should pay the $165 fee now.

If you don’t mind sharing, how much did it cost you to go all the way to the final decision in legal expenses?
