Processing time for green card based on asylum

Hi my status now is “new card is being produced”
I applied i-485 since September 2019.
But don’t ask me how many times i call USCIS make SR, call conggress, send letter to white house, request help to ombudsman and make USCIS infopass.
So you stayed 8 months after RFE was sent to them?

Stayed 8 months after They received my rfe. My Last action is make USCIS infopass last month. I go to USCIS field office couple weeks ago and asking about my case.
Everything i do to make faster my case except writ a mandamus because I don’t want spent a lot money.

That’s sad man but congratulations! I’m expecting to move harshly too against them if they dont send me the GC in 60 days from the day they received my Medicals hmm if it needs to go missouri just to have infopass appointment there i will do it and travel there! If there’s something i learnt from USCIS it will be always pushing them and never make them sleep on your case! I did that from day one and it always works but let’s see they still have 46 days before i take action against them

Anyone got rfe and sent it and it never went to rfe received and got his or her green card?
Yesterday I read a post on reddit about that and there was a screenshot of an official email sent by USCIS customer service to an applicant and they were explaining to him that when they get any documents they have to upload it on the system so the officer can adjust it so when the status is not updated yet that means they probably received the RFE but it’s not uploaded on the system yet so the status still the same.

Hello!
Try not to worry, I know it’s hard! It happens a lot - sometimes it takes a long time for the status to update online, but that doesn’t mean they’re not working on your case or that they didn’t receive it. It’s all messed up. Hopefully you’ll know soon!
Sometimes you receive notices/updates in the mail without any updates online (happens with interview requests and approval notices too). So many people sent their evidence and did not see an update online until way later :)

don’t forget they are unfortunately always understaffed and backlogged, and that each one of us is just 1 among hundreds of thousands of applicants in a big big pool, and the system is not wired to just focus on 1 application in a timely or linear manner. It’s hard to grasp that unpredictable reality because it’s harsh and absurd, and it sucks I am sorry :( :(

Hopefully we all hear some good news soon
Hopefully!!! I started to get out of patience hmm now it’s 15 days and no decision yet! The weird thing is medical RFE means your file was opened and they waived the interview but can’t approve the application until you send the medicals so why the hell they even take more than 1-2 days to approve the case if they have already opened the case and found no need for an interview!

I wish it were this linear and predictable! :( :(
it’s weird and annoying but it’s not like they are just on stand by with the file in hand and not doing work while they wait for evidence.
I am sure the file remains open but it goes back to the pile (virtual or paper) until the medical is received and retrieved and matched then the file is searched for and retrieved again. They don’t set the file aside and mark it or something since they have lots and lots of other files to go through every day. It might take them time to go back to it unfortunately :( i hope this makes it less annoying! Hehe

I understand but that’s unfair though! You should first adjust the old cases that you received their RFE before you even start adjusting a new case but with USCIS nothing make sense! Yeah i read yesterday that all the files now are digitized first by USCIS employees before the officers adjust it cause the officers adjust it electronically! Some people got approved in 1 week and some after 4 weeks and others after months so it’s weird but i guess it depends on the Field office and how busy is it! I still believe USCIS has to be pushed by inquiries and infopass calls and things like that! At least that’s my experience with them in many things and i never received any benefit from them before do inquires or keep calling them regularly or things like that I don’t know if that helped or nah but that was the case with me!
