Why am I not surprised??? They gonna take their sweet time (as always)

Because, Oh yeah!, "They gonna take their sweet time (as always)" Thanks for saying that... it made me laughed.
Hopefully things will change with all that is happening ... who knows![]()
Hey ayyubov and henri97 - no offense, but it would help to push that date if your names would be on the list of people faxing letters to congress, don't you agree?

nothing takes place of "action"
ayyubov said:Tell you the truth I don't believe that by sending letters or faxes would change or improve anything. I suppose to wait for my green car dtill 2012 and in the situation as all of you. But I gave up to fight. It's not gonna change anything. Somebody made a law (stupid law about 10000 asylees to be adjusted per year) and it will take them time to change it. I don't really thing they read our letters (maybe their secretaries)

Obviously we have different ideas about achievements. Sorry to see that yours are all correlated only to the amount of money you earn.
I was talking about more than just paying your bills and travelling once a while. Yes, for doing this it doesn't matter who you are. While being an asylee doesn't bother you, it is still a fact that you are not a full member of this society. Potentially something may change tomorrow, your asylee status can be revoked and you will be nobody with no life perspective. And please don't tell me that when you come back to US from one of your trips INS officer at the airport treats you the same way as a US citizen? This is just one of the examples of how far are we from being considered a full society member, but for me only this is making all the fighting worth. I'd like to go to a vacation and come back as a normal person without going through secondary checkpoint and answering 100 stupid questions asked by an officer who hardly speaks English and has an IQ that is many times lower than mine and in the best case has a mediocre knowledge of US Immigration Law.
I am talking about getting what we are entitled to by the US legislation - permanent residency card in REASONABLE timeframe and US citizenship 4 years after that. I am talking about BEING EQUAL to normal citizens.
That is the least achievement that I set for myself. Having a MBA degree, good job and fancy car do not bring me closer to this goal.

The bottom line is if you want to settle for your current limited position (I am talking about asylees who are not even GC holders yet) - fine. But there are some of us who won't.
