FexExed Packet 3 to chennai

I FedExed my packet 3 to chennai on Jan 3rd. On tracking it, it says that it was delivered to front desk on Jan 7th. Tried to call the embassy last night to see if they received it. Soon figured out it is not very easy to get past the various numbers and get the information that you want. I will try again tonight.
 
Expecting March

My packet 3 reached consulate on the 4th of Dec 01. Upon contacting consulate, i have recently received a reply saying that i can expect an interview in March although i was expecting in Feb. I am not sure if this is due to back log. Hope I have not disappointed you...with this note.
 
Mine reached 12/10, I haven\'t e-mailed for date yet..and don\'t get disapp..it is too early

It is just too early for the lady in front of computer replying e-mails to say. Wait one more week and you will find out either on the web or e-mail then.
 
PCC in CGNY

Have anyone of you got the PCC thru CGNY? I am sending my application via main and would like to know if I need to send the original passport. I have renewed my passport in new york 12/01, so am expecting my PCC should come thru in a week or two. What other documents did you have to send?
 
Do we need PCC for March Interview?

I have not stayed in any country other than USA or India for more
than 6 months. Would I need to get a PCC? I called up chennai consulate 2 weeks ago and the lady said I would not require PCC if I have stayed in USA or India. Just wanted to confirm, because there is so much discussion about PCC on this forum.

PCC takes 30-45 days at CGNY

If you send by mail, original pssport is a must.
They want to keep it till it is over.

Otherwise go personally with orig. passport and
submit the application.

Then we need to go there with orig. passport to get the PCC (after a month).
They put a note in the passport saying that PCC is issued.
 
Can people post when they have sent the packet 3

I sent packet 3 to chennai last week. It is delivered to consulate on Jan 7th.

my packet for PCC was received by CGNY today. hoping that i will get my pcc soon.

Some of you posted that you received email
confirmation that consulate received the P3.

How did the consulate know email id?
Did you give it in the covering letter?

If they have the email id, will they inform
as soon as the appointment is scheduled?

Otherwise theywant to keep it for all the

Send an email to consulate

You have to send an email to the consulate asking them if they received your packet 3. After a few days they will reply if and when they receive it.
 
Keep what for 45 days

I dont understand. I guess you are saying that do not send pasport by mail, go to the Consulate with your passport and get the PCC on it.

But still you have to wait 30-45 days after you apply(mail or in person) to get the PCC from India ??

Am I missing something here.?
 
Indian consulate wants to keep the passport for 30-45 days, if they have to send the PCC by mail

If we send the application by mail, the Indian consulate
keeps the original passport till it sends us the PCC.

I we personally go there & submit the application,
we need to take the original passport both while
submitting the PCC aplication and receiving back the
the PCC.

If Indian consulate is not too far, it is better to
submit application for PCC and take the PCC personally.

Otherwise, only thing is original pasport will be with
the Indian consulate for these days.
 
got email from consulate to expect an interview in March

dont know the date, but at least it is confirmed it is in March
 
Packet 3 mailed on Jan 3rd, received by chennai embassy on Jan7th
