I have been working as programmer analyst in company A for 5 years, and I have filed 485 for more than 180 days. Now I have a chance to get a Sr. programmer analyst position in company B. I am thinking about changing job under AC21.

Please advise:
1. Is Sr. programmer analyst under the same DOT code as programmer analyst (030.162.-014)?
2. What else should I be careful to keep my GC application safe?

Thank you very much.

what about I-140 approved or pending?
you are eligble if I-140 approved and I-485 pending more than 180 days.
You new employer must be ready to give you job offer letter with same/similar job duties to invoke AC21. I would request new employer to give Permanent job offer letter with same job title and same job duties as on your LC so that you dont face any problems. FYI GC is for future job.

Thank you ginnu. My I-140 was approved in 2007.

Do you mean the title sr. prgmr alyst could possibly cause some problem and I'd better ask the new employer to use title prgmr alyst? I can not find the DOT code for sr. prgmr alyst.

About job duties, I am not clear how "similar" will be considered as similar enough.

Thanks a lot.

dont go by DOT code. when you get employer job offer letter to invoke AC21 it will be better if employer write job title same as on your LC "programmer analyst" If the employer write "Sr. programmer analyst" it may or may not create problem. The Officer is going to look at the Job duties and job duties must be same/similar.
